The Constant Questions

Since I have started coming to the UK I have been inundated with questions by people of where I am from? why I am here? how do I like it here? is it a lot different over here then there? why would you move here and not stay in the states? why did you marry a british man? how are you finding our culture? and many, many more questions. Sometimes I feel like printing out a FAQ sheet and putting at the bottom of it if the question you want to ask isn't here then let me know lol...The funny thing is that these questions have become more frequent with every person I meet now that I am living here..and I am sure it is always going to be like this. I don't mind it because people are generally curious..but sometimes it gets a little overwhelming. Like over Christmas I worked in a grocery store and worked 8 hour shifts and had people asking me the same questions over and over...by the time I was done my shift I was exhausted. And the funny thing is that now when I go home to visit I get the same questions but in reverse from people I haven't seen in awhile..so my life has become and will remain a series of questions...

here is a sample of the FAQ sheet I was going to type up:

Where are you From? Pennsylvania, It is outside of Philadelphia. (If they don't know where this is I tell them) it is where Rocky Balboa is from (and if they don't get that I say) We are 2 states away from New York City (the reply is usually always I have been to NYC or Florida or the West Coast...never anywhere else in the states)

What brought you here? I married an Englishman (the response from women is "you stupid girl" the response from men is "you made the right choice")

Why did you move here? Because my husband is from Brixham...(they respond and say you stupid girl you should have stayed in the states)

There are a bunch more questions...I will post in another blog sometime...the reason I wanted to mention all the questions is that is part of my daily life from now on..and I have to get used to it even though sometimes it drives me absolutely insane lol...

Thanks for listening
